Weekend Re-Cap in Pictures!

Hello!
I took my own challenge on Sunday, mostly because I forgot Saturday...whoops!
So here are some of the pictures from yesterday:
Andrew working on his car.
Molly relaxing in the sunshine.
My neighbor Leah dropped the kids of for a little while so she could get the yard mowed so we had the kids for a while. Here they are visiting Star.
Andrew hoisting Koleden up to wash the roof.
Addison having her hand at washing.
Playing with the bubbles!
The kids being kids playing in the gravel. The were quite filthy afterwords, but hey, we were sending them back in a few hours!
Andrew fixing the fence that Star knocked off.
Everyone grazing.
Andrew practicing his golf swing.
Us taking a break in the grass.
My dad and I.
Andrew's first attempt at running the bulldozer.
Getting a few extra instructions.
Last photo of the evening. Then the camera battery died...In all fairness I had just taken two three minute videos so it had good reason!
Anyways, the weekend was pretty great really. The weather was wonderful for the most part and I was able to fit in a ride Saturday afternoon.
Hope yours was just as nice!

Sick

Sorry I didn't write yesterday, I was a little sick.

Saturday and Sunday I was sneezing throughout the day, but not bad, then Monday afternoon my head got stuffed up and that was that.

Much better today though, I can breathe through my nose, always a plus!

Weekend Re-Cap

Hello!

How was your weekend, did you do anything exciting?

Mine wasn't nearly as nice as the last. Andrew and his brother had to go to visit their parents before their school starts Wednesday who live in Spokane (for those of you not familiar with Washington, it's about 400 miles east of Seattle) and help put down their new flooring in the kitchen so that was a bummer. I guess this was the better weekend to go because Saturday was miserable. It was raining and quite ugly all day.

Sunday was a little drier at least, so that was nice. My mom and I went shopping and got some things for my aunt's birthday later this week and we got a great deal on some of the heavy duty decorated gift boxes that were 50% off. I always love a good deal! I also found some Halloween window clings at the same store that I got to put on my window here at school, but after I showed my mom she really liked them so we put them on the big window in the door at home. I'll pick up some more for myself later today when I go to Target. (I love Target, it may be the best store ever!)

When we got back and unloaded everything I went out and filled the water troughs, cleaned the stalls and few everyone. When that was done some friends of my parents were over, Andrew's aunt and uncle actually, and we had a little fire outside. Next weekend we are going to light off the big stump pile so that will be a little larger!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Friday Question!

Good Morning, Happy Friday!

We're going to do a question this week:

If you could be one profession, whatever you'd like, for one day and suddenly be imparted with the knowledge from years of training, etc. for it what would you want to do/be?

I think I would want to be a marine biologist. Okay, really a dolphin trainer or someone who works with them. Why? Because I have always loved dolphins, whales, seals, all the sea life creatures. (Odd, because I really don't like water or swimming.) I would love to become a marine biologist, but I can't wrap my mind around the things taught in biology classes...that's kind of a big thing to know! Even in my advanced biology class in college, I did horrible. There went any ideas of being a large animal vet or a dolphin trainer!

So, what would you want to do for a day?!

Hope everyone has a terrific weekend!

Pictures from the Game!

We went to the Mariner's game versus the Rangers last Tuesday. (I know, I haven't been able to upload pictures correctly until a few days ago and I forgot about this...!)

Safeco Field is gorgeous. Any seat in the place is great. The tickets I got though were better than I expected. I purchased them at an auction (and got a steal on them) and thought they were higher up but it turned out they were on the 3rd base line 6 rows up from the field. Not too bad!

So here are some of the pictures:

In the stadium.
Jose Lopez at bat.Ichiro crossing home plate.
My signature self portrait! He looks thrilled to have to do another one, doesn't he?!
Andrew messing around with the camera since the Rangers had a 3 or 4 run lead.
Andrew's new favorite beer: Miller Chill...$7.50 for a beer...crazy!
Who is that handsome man sitting beside me?!
And here's an example of me being bored with the camera...seats!
The game was good, the seats were great, the garlic fries were delicious! (Sleeping next to someone who ate every last piece of garlic, however was a little less than delicious!)

Animal Profile #2 - Dusty

This is Dusty. He is a 24 year young registered Quarter Horse. We've had him now for over 12 years which is really hard to believe! He'a always been a challenge for me, pushing any buttons he can to frustrate me or to ge me off his back. Through all this, and as he's gotten older, he doesn't try to test me as much which is a little sad because I know it means he's getting older, but at the same time I really don't mind being able to go for a ride without any fights! He is still my favorite horse to ride, my old man, and I love him dearly.
Last summer, grazing away.
On a ride.
Working in the arena. (I was about 30 pounds heavier here, but I still love this picture.)
After a winter ride. He's a little shaggy here!
Grazing away again.
Me and my old man.

My neighbor got a Nikon camera a few months ago and now that she's had a chance to leanr how to use it, I'm going to ask her to take some portraits of us. Well, all the horses really. I have lots of pictures of them all out in the pastures, but the only ones of me in them are my self portraits...as you can see I tend to always cut one of us out!

Weekend Re-Cap

Hi!

How was your weekend, did you do anything exciting? Did you complete the Friday Challenge? My word, Andrew and I sure did.

Friday evening when I got home I saddled up Star (she's bigger now as this picture was when she was 18 months and she is 28 months now) and got on while Andrew held her. She did great for only being her second time with a person on her back. Just stood there and wanted dinner. Saturday Andrew had to go help his uncle for a few hours in the morning dig a ditch to run wire from their house to a little cabin on their property. When he came back we thought about going to a movie, but really there isn't anything good out, so instead we used these:

It's an old picture once again, but they look the same! I was on the trackhoe digging up stumps and loading them into the backhoe (on the left) that Andrew was driving and he took them up to the pile we will burn when it starts to rain. My dad was on the bulldozer coming behind us leveling out the holes the stumps leave. Afterwords, dad and Andrew cut some rounds from some down trees and loaded them into the truck.

This picture was actually weekend before last. This wood was cut up for our neighbors. My dad on the left, neighbor Dean and Andrew posing with their load!

We had nothing much to do Sunday as again, no good movies or anything like that. We were thinking about a hike or going to a near by lake for a swim, but thought it would be nice to get the wood split and out of the truck so we could get another load. We ended up splitting and stacking the entire truck load in about 3 hours. Not too bad!

This picture is again from last weekend, but at our neighbor's house. Andrew likes to split wood the old fashioned way while I prefer to use the log splitter. Put a round of wood on the platform, push the lever and 2 seconds later it's in half. Just my style!
After all the wood was stacked and split we all got on our respective machines and brought up a few more stumps and got more wood loaded into the truck. Probably two more loads and the woodshed will be full again.

So that was our weekend, busy, but nice. This was Andrew's second to last weekend before school starts for him and next weekend he has to go to Spokane to see his parents so it was nice for us to have time to do what we wanted to do, and we got alot accomplished. Together, which I love.

Friday Challenge!

It's Friday...woohoo!

We're going to do a challenge in honor of the beautiful weather we are having here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest: GET OUTSIDE!

I know football has reared it's ugly head again and after working a full week people just like to hang out inside, but come one! Summer is winding down, so take advantage!

I hope your weekend weather is as stunning wherever you resides as it is here. Enjoy!

September 11th.

Can you believe that it has been 7 years since that horrible morning of September 11, 2001? I remember, as I'm sure most Americans do, exactly where I was and how I was told. I was riding in the car with my dad on the way to my parent's business where I went before school, somewhat asleep in the car, and it came over the radio that a plane had hit the World Trade Towers. At first it came across as just a small plane, nothing major. It wasn't until we got to the office and turned the news on that we saw what really happened. A jumbo jet had flown into the building. A few minutes later, another. Later on, a plane crashes in Pennsylvania. We seriously didn't know when it was going to end, if it was going to end.

I ended up not going to school that day, mostly because like I said above, we didn't know if it was going to end. All we could do was stare at the television in shock. Unbelievable. Was this really happening? Of course it was, we were watching it.

My heart is with all the families that mourned that day and still grieve today.

Pictures from the Game!

Evidently I can't upload pictures while I'm on the internet in the school's apartment. That's a bummer!

Anyways, the game was a lot of fun and I got a few good shots that I'll try to post tomorrow from school.

Going to the Game!

Andrew and I are off to the Mariner's game tonight. Even though they, okay all the Seattle teams really, aren't doing well it will still be fun!

Pictures to come tomorrow. Wish the Rangers bad luck and the Mariner's some good luck! Lord knows they need it. (Alright, it's mean to wish them bad luck, but you know!)

Hope you have a lovely Tuesday!

Weekend Re-Cap

Good Morning!

How was your weekend?
Mine was pretty good actually. We had a bbq at our house Friday night, Andrew and I went to a bbq for his best friend that got in town a few days ago after being at sea for 6 months Saturday afternoon, and then we had another bbq last night at our neighbor's house. It was a weekend full of food! Just the way I like it! It was also full of wood cutting, holy cow, there was a lot of that going on! My dad, Andrew and our neighbor Dean cut up a truckload of rounds for them for winter. I got a really great shot of it, so will have to post it later.
The only downfall was that Friday afternoon Sage cornered Dusty (my most dominant horse...how it happened is beyond me) and kicked his leg down to the tendon. Luckily my vet was already there floating Boston's teeth and helped me get him fixed up. He now needs medication, his favorite thing, once a day for 2 weeks and for his leg to be rinsed, cleaned and an iodine solution applied everyday until it heals. Great. So, this was the deciding factor for Sage. We've only had her a year and were comtemplating selling her anyway because as much as I work with her she really isn't very nice and this was just the last straw. She is not welcome if she is going to hurt others.
Anyways, here are a few photos. I would have more, but they are on Andrew's iPhone and I didn't have time to download them last night.
These are my neighbor's kids, Koleden and Addison, after coloring themselves with sidewalk chalk. Notice Andrew in the background putting together one of those big propane stand up heaters. He was thrilled to get to do that!
This is the sunrise as I was leaving this morning. It would have been much better had I been able to find my camera in my purse and not have to run back into the house thinking it was there. It was absolutely gorgeous a few minutes earlier with streaks of red. Stunning.

Friday Challenge

Even though I've been slacking a bit, I've come up with a challenge for you today.

I guess it mostly pertains to me, but maybe you can do it too:
Make up with someone.

Do you have someone you haven't spoken to in a while because of a disagreement or whatnot that occurred ages ago?

Do you have someone you've just lost contact with?
Call them. Email them. Get in touch again. Re-kindle your friendship.

I need to start with myself. Andrew and I agreed this morning, a few minutes ago actually, that after tonight we're not going to argue like we have been anymore.

Might sound like it can't happen because who doesn't argue, right? But we've been arguing about insanely stupid things lately and we need to get over and beyond it.

That's my challenge for the week. Are you up to it?

Have a wonderfun weekend!

A Rambling

Happy September!

How have you been? Sorry I haven't written much. Okay, at all really. I have lots of things stored up to write about, just haven't been in the mood really. I promise I'll try to pick up again, starting tomorrow. I realized I still haven't posted any pictures of New York or Washington, DC. I know, it's been a month. I'll get right on it!

Besides school starting, my significant other and I are struggling a bit. It's 95% my fault, but I'm not really sure how it's going to play out yet, so as one may figure my mind has been a bit preoccupied a bit.

Moving on, more content tomorrow!
